Reflections on Ethics in the use of Artificial Intelligence in research in the field of Professional and Technological Education

Technological advances with the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools have impacted science in the most diverse areas of knowledge, including Vocational and Technological Education. Given this new reality, this essay aims to critically and reflexively discuss the ethical use of AI in research within the field of Vocational and Technological Education. To this end, it presents discussions on the ethical process in writing academic and scientific papers, the responsibility of researchers, and the possible impacts for scientific journals, as well as for scientific evaluators and editors. The essay contributes by problematizing the need to establish ethical guidelines for the use of AI by scientific journals, with the aim of preserving the integrity, quality and transparency of research and publications.
