The objective of this study is to reflect on the role of the integrative project discipline in professional education, based on an experience report as a volunteer teacher trainer in the integrator project 2 discipline of the distance technical course in the environment of the Federal Institute of Tocantins. In it, there are reports on how the planning and organization of the discipline took place in the virtual learning environment, the profile of students and the participation of tutors, teacher-student communication, and evaluation and feedback. In addition to the questioning of scientific knowledge, in the integrative design disciplines technical competences can be questioned, having as a possibility the thematic approach of the three pedagogical moments.
