Abstract

Writing a scientific text is essential for anyone pursuing a research career. Since 2022, there has been a drop in scientific publications in Brazil and other countries influenced by various factors. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate a pedagogical intervention proposal developed to improve university students' academic and scientific writing skills through a Scientific Writing Course. A descriptive analysis of the collected data was carried out using a mixed methods approach, with data obtained through questionnaires. The course positively impacted the participants' knowledge, who expressed general satisfaction with the experience. However, even among the most experienced students, difficulties in scientific writing were identified. The experience reinforces the need for educational approaches that promote social inclusion and critical reflection on academic literacy, which could also benefit other educational contexts.
