ASSOCIAÇÕES ENTRE A PERCEPÇÃO DOS SERVIÇOS ECOSSISTÊMICOS E O BEM-ESTAR EM PARQUES URBANOS

Resumo

Os benefícios dos Serviços Ecossistêmicos para o bem-estar têm sido estudados sob diferentes perspectivas. Uma delas é a relação com as áreas verdes urbanas. Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar associações entre a percepção de serviços ecossistêmicos culturais e o bem-estar entre usuários de um conjunto de parques urbanos. Foram aplicados 481 formulários com usuários de dez parques urbanos da cidade do Recife, Brasil. Os resultados mostraram que quanto melhor a autopercepção em relação à saúde mental e níveis de estresse, maior a percepção sobre os benefícios dos serviços ecossistêmicos providos pelos parques. Além disso, foi evidenciado que uma maior aceitação da Disposição a Pagar (DAP) por melhorias nos parques foi correlacionada com uma melhor percepção dos serviços ecossistêmicos. Os achados sugerem que os usuários dos parques urbanos da metrópole estudada conhecem os benefícios dos serviços ecossistêmicos, associando-os à melhoria do bem-estar e da qualidade ambiental urbana. Esses resultados podem servir de subsídio para que os tomadores de decisão incorporem o valor dos serviços ecossistêmicos nas estratégias de planejamento urbano

Professor do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia de Pernambuco (IFPE) nos cursos de Gestão Ambiental e Licenciatura em Geografia (Graduação) e Sustentabilidade Urbana e Educação Ambiental (Pós-graduação). Atualmente desenvolve pesquisas sobre as relações entre saúde, ambiente e território com ênfase no ambiente urbano.
