Abstract

The main objective of this article is to discuss, under the lens of radical-imaginary reflection, the theoretical thought of Peter Sloterdijk’s Social Politologies, drawing from the posthumous legacy of Plato’s (428–348 BC) diairetic political logos. Sloterdijk investigated the origins of the psychopolitical deformations of the monstrous negative powers of gregarious individuals, both ancient and contemporary, according to the perspective of this historical legacy. The dialogue The Statesman, or The Second Sailing, written by the Greek philosopher, was revisited by the German thinker, who brilliantly expounded upon it in order to problematize human conduct as both domestic and bestial animals, according to the model of the art of governing promoted by the statesman of the park. This study seeks to discuss the concept of humanism in the era of the bestial domination of postmodern political media, in light of its disinhibiting, catastrophic, and liberating effects.
