In order to calculate the stresses two different materials were chosen, the first is an alloyed steel SAE 4340 and the second a high strength steel UHB-20C. The results showed that both materials showed the same trend, which means the difference between the applied stress and the residual stress is minimal when applied stress is closer to material tensile strength.
